Week 4, Autumn 1 - W/c 28.09.26

In Reception, we have been learning about different types of houses and using Google maps to locate our homes on the map. We are finishing off our self-portraits, using mirrors to look at all the different features we have. In Maths, we created a bar chart to show the different eye colours in each class. We have been enjoying building different houses using junk modelling, bricks and construction materials.

Week 3, Autumn 1 - W/c 21.09.26

This week we have been sharing photos and talking about our families. We have drawn pictures of our families and used mirrors to help us start to create self-portraits. The children have enjoyed reading stories such as ‘Super, Duper You’ and ‘The Great Big Book of Families’..

Week 2, Autumn 1 - W/c 14.09.26

The children have completed their first full week of Reception! We have been learning our school mantra: I am kind, I am brave, I believe in myself. The children have enjoyed finding objects beginning with s, a, t, p as we start our phonics learning. Confidence is growing in using our outdoor areas building obstacle courses, using the climbing equipment and bikes.

Week 1, Autumn 1 - W/c 07.09.26

Reception have enjoyed settling in, exploring the classroom and outdoor areas this week. We have been modelling routines, gaining independence at snack time and starting to make new friends. Favourite activities have included the bikes, mud kitchen, dressing up, construction areas and water play.
